Matariki
20th, 21st and 22nd June
Celebrate Matariki with your friends and whānau at Te Nukuao Wellington Zoo.
Enjoy a variety of Ranger activities at The Barn every day of the Matariki long weekend (20th, 21st and 22nd of June.) This includes origami animals, weaving, seed bombs, and bug hunts. You’ll also have the opportunity to write notes to loved ones who have passed, set new intentions, and share wishes for the coming year.
On Friday 20th, we'll be hosting a 30-minute Native Plant Tour to connect with Te Taiao around us, as well as an engaging performance from Fairy Cat and Friends.
We're excited to spend Matariki with you and hope you have a moment to reflect on the year that has been, and what is yet to come.
